If you live, work or play in 4S Ranch, we’ve got some flippin’ good news. Flippin’ Pizza will be celebrating our 5th year in business with the grand opening of a new store in 4S Ranch! To celebrate our newest San Diego location, we’ll be serving up free slices to attendees from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
It’s going to be quite the party, as we’ve got plenty to celebrate! Along with serving delicious pies for 5 years, the anniversary marks 5 years of throwing dough back to the San Diego community. Since 2007, Flippin’ Pizza has donated $293,000 in food and cash donations to regional schools, educational and recreational programs, sports teams, and various foundations, such as the Tony Hawk Foundation.
The grand opening event is on Saturday, May 5th at Flippin’ Pizza 4S Ranch, located at 16615 Dove Canyon Road, San Diego, 92127. A free slice for those who attend will be available from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Jazz Band from Oak Valley Middle School will be providing entertainment and members of the community are invited to come for a Flippin’ good time.
The ballots are in and the voting is officially closed. Thanks to everyone who voted for Flippin’ Pizza as the Best Pizza and Best Food Truck in San Diego Magazine’s Best Restaurant Awards 2012! While we wait for the results to come in, we can’t help but reminisce on all of the past fun we’ve had with the Flippin’ Pizza Food Truck. After a delicious month of March Madness pizza games, the contest has officially come to a close. All of the entrants created some seriously flippin’ good recipes, but only one pizza could come out of the oven on top. Congratulations to Anne Krein and her creation – The Flippin’ Sicilian, which includes tomatoes, marinated artichokes, onions, sausage and roasted red peppers. Along with Flippin’ Pizza stardom and bragging rights, Anne will be enjoying free Flippin’ Pizza for a year.

Restaurant Management Magazine rounded up the top Pizza Experts, including Flippin’ Pizza’s CEO and Founder, Patrick Farley, to get the scoop on what makes a great pizza. Including everything from the sauce to the oven, Farley explained what truly makes a pizza a world-class pie.
“There is no such thing as a terrific pizza,” Farley says. “A terrific pizza starts and ends with the crust, and we call it a pie.”

Flippin’ Pizza is turning up the heat once again for our third annual ‘Create-A-Pie’ March Madness Contest, inviting YOU to take a shot at designing your own pie and winning delicious prizes. Joining the tournament is as easy as pie! Create your own pizza using a maximum of five toppings from the provided list, and post the name and ingredients on the Flippin’ Pizza Facebook page. Be sure to post your recipe by Friday, March 9.
Earn three points for submitting your recipe, and one point for every “like,” “comment” and “share” of your post. In conjunction with the NCAA March Madness, the sixteen pies with the most points will make-up the Savory Sixteen, as well as determine their seed. Throughout the month, get a taste of the action by voting for your favorite pies on Facebook, and even in-store towards the end of the contest.
The winning pie will be featured in all Flippin’ Pizza stores, nationwide, during the month of April. Whether you submit a recipe or join in on the tasting and voting, you will have the chance to win tasty prizes; including free pizza for a year and gift cards valued from $25 – $100!

The Gluten-Free diet has been getting a lot of exposure in recent years, and while the buzz has led to gluten-free options popping up across grocery store shelves and restaurant menus, it can still be challenging to find your favorite foods when you have to be wary of wheat. Not many people understand the ins and outs of going gluten-free like Heidi Kelly, author of “Adventures of a Gluten Free Mom.” Heidi struggled with health issues for years until finally pinpointing gluten as the culprit.
